This is the one you had posted about liking the character, right? I'm thinking I wouldn't enjoy it that much because all the history would probably be too much information for me.Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14128837662718618636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282761092944595871.post-5635044347342142442012-02-15T16:18:03.045-06:002012-02-15T16:18:03.045-06:00Hmmm, I'm actually quite interested in Irish h...Hmmm, I'm actually quite interested in Irish history so maybe I should try it. Either I'd find it fascinating or be bored to death...right? ;)Jennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05738740015526095835noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282761092944595871.post-52226468099494452172012-02-15T10:25:40.368-06:002012-02-15T10:25:40.368-06:00It seems like maybe this book might hold up better...It seems like maybe this book might hold up better in the right mood? I will tell you that often I am NOT in the mood to work very hard at entertaining myself. I loathe footnotes, unless they really throw me a bone. If they are just informative and blah, blah, I ignore them. They break up my rhythm. So who knows if I will ever pick this one up. My eyebrows did go up when I heard about a bad boy named Horatio...Sandy Nawrothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00564390728106776030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282761092944595871.post-34054137147758749052012-02-15T09:22:23.006-06:002012-02-15T09:22:23.006-06:00I haven't heard much about this one in my blog...I haven't heard much about this one in my bloggy travels. It's probably one I'd pick up at a book sale, but not for more than .25.Andihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05220718933942181809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282761092944595871.post-28497717020942046262012-02-15T08:42:09.092-06:002012-02-15T08:42:09.092-06:00I haven't read a lot about Irish history, and ...I haven't read a lot about Irish history, and given my origins, I find that a little shameful! I bet I would get a lot out of this book for that aspect alone, and might have to make some time for this one. I enjoyed your take on it and love that you defined your parameters for an "acceptable read". Very nice review today!Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07443338685890187334noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8282761092944595871.post-45953207938717585242012-02-15T07:32:03.103-06:002012-02-15T07:32:03.103-06:00I think I'd skip this one. I don't do too ...I think I'd skip this one. I don't do too well with historical stuff, and while I know it's basically heresy, I don't really care about Ireland (today or yesterday) at all. I know, bad me. I avoid reading books about Ireland. I just have a sort of thing against it, I'm not even sure why. ? But anyway, it seems like the sort of book I should avoid.Amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07026099426503180472noreply@blogger.com
