Read the Book, See the Movie

This is my kind of challenge. I teach both literature and film, so I get all gushy when the opportunity to combine two of my passions presents itself. The idea is right there in the title - read a book and watch the movie; then it's simply a matter of writing up a review.

The Levels:

* Matinee: one book/movie
* Double Feature: two books/movies
* Saturday Movie Marathon: four books/movies
* Film Festival: eight books/movies
* Festival Jury Member: ten books/movies

I'm going for the Saturday Movie Marathon level, but secretly hoping I get to Festival Jury Member. I'm not going to make a list I have to stick to, but I will throw up a few ideas I have.

  1. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick and Bladerunner
  2. Auntie Mame by Patrick Dennis
  3. Fingersmith by Sarah Waters
  4. Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
  5. Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan
  6. Dracula by Bram Stoker
  7. Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling
  8. Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
  9. Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

COMPLETED: But I'm clearly not going to stop. :)

  1. I just had to jump in here and say that you have gone crazy in the challenges! I love it! I'm doing this one too. James and I actually read and saw Blindness this year, and posted our discussions about both during BBAW. It was so much fun!
