Today, I turn 30. And no I'm not overly freaked about it - although I am mildly surprised as I've always thought of 30 as being the Year of the Adult, and unfortunately, I don't feel very adult yet. :) In totally self-aggrandizing honor of this historic event, I'm giving away books! So here are a handful of books for you to take off my hands. Links will take you to either my review or to the Amazon page for that book.
Jayne Ann Krentz: Lost and Found, Light and Shadow, Fabulous Beast, Fabulous Beast, Gambler's Woman
Andrew M. Greeley: Younger than Springtime, A Midwinter's Tale
Christina Dodd: Scent of Darkness, Touch of Darkness
Micheal Crichton: Next, State of Fear, The Andromeda Strain
Lorenzo Carcaterra: Sleepers
Anthony Horowitz: Stormbreaker
Ayun Halliday: No Touch Monkey
Chinua Achebe: Things Fall Apart
William Shakespeare: Hamlet
Brian Cohen: The Life O'Reilly
How to Win
1. Only U.S. residents this time around! Sorry, it's just too expensive with so many books.
2.Post a comment with a birthday poem of your own creation and then email me your top four book choices at eclectic.eccentric[at]hotmail.com.
On April 25, the hubby will choose his favorite poems, and I will send two books to each of the winners. Hopefully it will work out where the books will be from their own lists, but if not, I'll email the winners to let them know what's left.
I love ya to death, and wish you a very happy birthday, but I cannot write poetry! Anyway, I just won big with you recently, so I am happy with that! Have a good one, you young person!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! 30 is a good age. :) And no, this isn't meant to be a poem. :D
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you
ReplyDelete30's no reason to feel blue
You should go eat some chocolate fondue
And drink a little home brew!
:-)
I'm not entering for the books, but I just had to leave you a cheesy birthday poem. Have a fabulous birthday!
Sandy - Thanks! Love you too!
ReplyDeleteAmanda - I think it should be a poem. A very alternative-y type poem.
softdrink - Ha! You are actually the reason I came up with the birthday poem idea! Awesome.
Happy Birthday!! I think of 30 as a real adult too, haha. I'm not creative enough to think of a poem!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! I turned 30 in February and I'm still having a hard time getting used to the fact. I just feel like I'm too young to be 30. Hope your adjusting better than I am :) Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday, Trisha! I hope you're having a wonderful day :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! The 30's are great. Welcome to them! (No entry for me- in Canada, just wanted to wish you a good one.)
ReplyDeleteNot an entry -- Happy Birthday, Trisha! I didn't feel like an adult when I turned 30 either, even though I had a kid and a mortgage. Actually I still don't. I guess I'm immune to maturity.
ReplyDeleteYou'll love your 30s!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday! I shall see what I can do about a poem.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteCelebrate the big 3-oh
It's just a number, doncha know
The Thirties are a special time
Smile! You'll be just fine.
:)
Happy Birthday! I get what you mean about supposedly being an "adult". Let me tell it doesn't happen when you're a few years past thirty either. Never be an adult!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful birthday :)
[No need to enter me, but thanks anyway.]
Happy Birthday, Trish! I can say wholeheartedly that being in my thirties has been the best ever. I know it will be for you too! Being thirty means being wise but physically youthful. (It also should mean a better standard of living than in your twenties.) All of it is something to embrace and enjoy fully!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fantastic birthday and even better year to come!
No need to enter me - but had to stop by and say Happy Birthday! You're young yet. :)
ReplyDeleteNo need to enter me - just wanted to add a (belated) Happy Birthday! And at least 4 times the amount more!
ReplyDeleteJust hopped on over via the blog hop! Looks like you review some awesome books!
ReplyDeleteHappy 30th! I would be freaking out if I were you, so go you for not!
I would enter, but I'm not in the US. :-(
Happy birthday! I'm going to be 33 later this year, and other than the fact that I'm a parent, I don't feel like an adult either! I'm always thinking about what I want to do when I grow up, and I have to remind myself that I AM grown up. LOL Hope you had a wonderful day.
