I have never celebrated a blogoversary. I actually can not decide when my actual blogoversary is. The options:
1. The day I opened eclectic / eccentric : 17 January 2007
2. The day I decided to review every book I read on my blog: 1 January 2009
3. The first time someone I didn't know commented on one of my book reviews : 17 May 2009
Honestly, the "book blog" did not begin for me until 17 May 2009 when Michelle of Fluttering Butterflies commented on my review of Ernest Hemingway's The Sun Also Rises. After that Trish from Love Laughter Insanity started stopping by on a regular basis, posting comments and in general introducing me to the larger blogging community. And it was another Trish, from Hey Lady! Whatcha Reading? who had me feeling all gooey inside when I found out she was subscribing to my feed (at the time, I had no idea you could even do that).
So while this blog has been around for over 3 years, it has only been for the past year that I have turned it into a book blog. And I can't tell you how much fun the past year has been. I have enjoyed so much about this - the reviewing, the recommendations, the challenges. But mostly I have enjoyed getting to know all of you. Thank you for making the past year wonderful!
Very exciting! I love hearing about the paths others have taken to where they are now with their blog. I say celebrate all 3, parties are fun :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogoversary!
ReplyDeleteLOL sounds like you have a multi-date anniversary just like me! :D Well, happy blogoversary anyway!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteI love coming to your blog!
I always think how blogging is such a rabbit hole of events. You begin by reading one blog, then you eventually comment, then finally someone comments on your comment, then Voila! there is a relationship that gives you encouragement and...you're off!
Congratulations on your blogiversay. I know what you mean about how wonderful it is when people who you don't know respond to your blog - for me that is really the point - reaching out and sharing information and ideas with other readers. Viva la blogosphere!
ReplyDeleteHannah
Congratulations on your blogiversary! How fantastic that I started things off! ..In answer to your question (that I've only just noticed that you'd asked!!) the other Hemingway book I read was A Farewell To Arms.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I kind of forgot to say in my first comment, HAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!!
ReplyDeleteHa! I know exactly how you feel. I think for awhile it was just my mom and my sister reading my blog! I thought people were just supposed to be electrified by what I had to say! Well congrats no matter which date you celebrate. I love coming here and yakking.
ReplyDeleteI love your 3 dates! Congratulations on all 3, whichever you choose!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BLOGOVERSARY!! AND VERY MANY CONGRATULATIONS!!
ReplyDeleteHappy blogging anniversary, Trisha! Getting to know you over the past year or so has been a pleasure :)
ReplyDeleteWho cares when it was as long as you continue doing it! And I want that cake!
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogiversary!
Happy Blogoversary, whatever day that might be!
ReplyDeleteA very happy blogoversary from a new blogger! I still get a thrill when I get a new follower!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your blogiversary, no matter when you decide to celebrate it :)
ReplyDeleteAmy - I love the idea of celebrating all 3!
ReplyDeleteNotNessie - Thank you!
Amanda - I had written this post a while ago, and when I saw your post, I had to laugh at the similarity.
The Empress - Exactly! Blogging is such a strange, twisty road; but that's why I love it!
Hannah - I agree. While I started this as a place for me to log my own books, it really was when others started reading and responding that I started caring!
Clover - I have to give credit where credit is due!
Sandy - And I love yakking with you too! I'm so glad we found each others' blogs!
Rhapsody - Thanks! I think I'm taking Amy's advice and sticking with all three.
Kavyen - Thank you!
Nymeth - Ditto! Your blog is absolutely fantastic, and so are you!
Jenners - Oh, don't you just want to like bury your face in that cake? I think it looks unbelievably delicious.
Chris - Thank you!
Mystica - It is a great feeling, isn't it? Even after 200+ I still get excited when someone new subscribes to my feed.
Kim - Thanks!
Happy Blogoversary!

ReplyDeleteTrish--happy happy (very late) bloggiversary! I do think it's fun that you consider the birth of your book blog the date that you received your first comment! Hope there's lots more book blogging for you in the future!!
