The Book Blogger Appreciation Awards (BBAW) encompass one week of fun for bloggers. Meeting new people with similar interets, voting on/meeting some of the best bloggers in particular genres, community posting on the same topic, interactive games, and uh, giveaways. This year's BBAW is from September 12-16. Registration is now open, so you should head over and sign up! Once you have registered, you also have the opportunity to nominate blogs for an award. You can find the category list here!
The ILAs are awards nominated, voted on, and judged by book bloggers and other independent readers. Founded by Wallace of Unputdownables and co-chaired by Ti of Book Chatter, the Indie Lit Awards also includes 35 other book bloggers working on 7 panels:
Biography/Memoir
GLBTQ
Literary Fiction
Mystery
Non-Fiction
Poetry
Speculative Fiction
Speculative Fiction
Nominations for each category will open in September, and all independent readers and bloggers will have the opportunity to add their favorite reads of 2011 to the list of nominees. I have a running list of 2011's Speculative Fiction, but it hasn't been updated lately, so be sure to check it out and comment with other books which should be included!
So much fun stuff coming up! I am especially looking for BBAW.
ReplyDeleteAs I sit here and lament the fact that I have a horrible time getting to all the blogs I follow, that problem just EXPLODES during BBAW. But so much fun!
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorite events! Now if I could just figure out where to register on the BBAW site! Too tired. Been teaching since 7:15am.
ReplyDeleteThanks for highlighting BBAW!
